This past Sunday, to celebrate Easter, we had Malory and Jessica (a friend) over for most of the day. It was nice. In addition to taking communion together, we also cooked dinner and watched a movie.

We wanted to cook something nice, and after a short deliberation, Stephany and I decided to cook the Coq au Vin dish that Jed and I had made during his visit in December. It takes two and a half hours or so from prep time to finish, but it is so worth the effort. Here are some pics of the cooking.
Mushrooms, carrots, onions, bacon, and chicken—just some of the good stuff that goes in the stew, which also includes a half-bottle of red wine.
Stephany also made her delicious home-made mashed potatoes, which were fantastic!

Delicious. A good choice. Malory and Jessica were too full for dessert afterwards, but Steph and I enjoyed some of Malory's cherry cheesecake pie which she had brought over.

After dinner, we watched Fantastic Mr. Fox, one of our newer favorites directed by Wes Anderson, not coincidentally our favorite director. It was a great day, and we were happy to be able to relax with family and friend.
