Last Sunday, October 24, we took a trip out to McCall's Pumpkin Patch in Moriarty, about thirty minutes east of Albuquerque on I-40. McCall's is a farm that does a sort of fall fair each year. They have a corn maze, fun activities for kids, a petting zoo, lots of good food, and a hayride out to a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkins. It's a neat place. Stephany had been a couple of times in the past, but I had never gone. We took Beck and had a great time!
It was kind of a long ride out there, so we fed and changed Beck in the car before walking over to the farm.
He was in high spirits.
The first thing we did was check out all the pumpkins and gourds they had for sale in the market. Beck definitely saw (and touched) some new things.
Next, we headed over to the corn maze!
The farm had actually incorporated some of the Peanuts characters into the design of the maze this year—it was neat!
Stephany grabbed a map and navigated us through.
After successfully not getting forever lost in the corn maze, we walked through the activities area. We checked out a mountain of hay bales that had been made—also a first for Beck.
Yes, we put our child's head through a wooden chicken cut-out. Why? Why not!

It's fairly brown, but it is late October in central New Mexico. They sure did have some good-lookin' pumpkins though!

We love this time of year. It is so fun sharing in it with our son. We look forward to the upcoming winter season and all the fun holiday things we'll enjoy as a family.
