We found out earlier in the summer, and during the past two months, Steph has been experiencing significantly decreased energy and sickness, which tends to hit unexpectedly, morning or not. However, she is now just past three months and is feeling a lot better. It was nice being with her parents this summer -- they were a big encouragement and support -- and, as we'll be having their first grandchild, they are quite excited! On my side of the family, this will be grandchild number seven for my mom (who is also very excited)! So we're adding another cousin to the growing roster of kiddos!
The baby's due date is February 27. We should be able to know the sex of the baby within about two months.
Stephany at thirteen weeks! Her belly is definitely getting bigger by the week.
Our little one at eight weeks. This is a pretty cute picture, with the little arm protruding, almost like he or she is waving hello. This picture came from our initial appointment with Stephany's doctor in Albuquerque.

And here are pictures from our more recent appointment in Dallas. It was probably the coolest thing I have ever seen to watch our little baby move around during the sonogram (Steph couldn't feel it at all, but the baby is only about three inches long right now). Here, the baby is about twelve weeks. This is a picture of the body.

And here are some pictures of the little face! It's so amazing.

And we got to count all ten fingers! Very fun! Also amazing.

And here we have a picture of the baby's legs, which appear to be pretty long! We're wondering if the baby will be getting my height.

We are SO excited about this child! It has been great having the support and encouragement of our family, and our friends are so excited for us.
It's going to be a great year!!
Our love to you all,
Nathan & Stephany

I check this blog frequently, secretly hoping for an announcement such as this one. I have especially been waiting for news like this over the summer, somehow. Yes, I know that's weird. But still... it's what I do!

You guys are and will be terrific parents.
I think you had a typo. The baby wasn't waiving hello...it was reaching for a high five!
