Bedtime, Bath Time, and Starbucks

Becker recently had his two-week check-up, and the pediatrician said he's doing great! He has continued putting on some weight, which is good. Babies commonly lose some weight after they are born. Beck is now back up to his birth weight, which is great. It was cold this weekend, and it actually snowed an inch or two here Saturday evening, so we didn't go out much this weekend. We just stayed inside with the Beck boy.

Here are some pics of Becker all ready for bed. He's a cute one.

And here's a pic of Beck swaddled in his forest friends blanket. If he has a hard time calming down, or if he's especially squirmy, Stephany will swaddle him, which he seems to enjoy. We call him "the Becker burrito boy" when he's wrapped up like this. And then, naturally, we'll call him "our little pack animal" from time to time (as everyone knows, "burrito" means "little donkey"), but we never make him carry anything heavy.

Me and the little guy. After a feeding, he usually experiences what we call "milk high."

Here are some pictures from Becker's first bath! He didn't care for it too much at first, but he's had a few now, and he seems to be enjoying them more. Here's Mommy getting the little boy clean!

And getting the hair brushed. He always seems to like this part. Maybe Mommy just does it really well.

This semester, prior to Beck's birth, Stephany and I had been having a weekly coffee date at the Starbucks near campus where she had worked the first year and a half that we were here. I have a break between classes on Wednesday afternoons, so Steph would pick me up from campus and we would enjoy spending an hour together during my busy day. Last week, we were able to continue the tradition (after a three-week break), but this time, there were three of us instead of two!

The little guy on his first trip to Starbucks.

We used a cup sleave as a makeshift hat to celebrate the occasion. (You know, like we did when we visited In-N-Out Burger in California last year.) He didn't really get it, but he didn't seem to mind either. We, on the other hand, were quite momentarily amused.

Good stuff. Lots of love.

Cute! Love the crown. Ha ha!

And also, I do think Beck looks quite a bit like Nathan. In some of the pictures I thought, "Wow! Mini-Nathan!"
